We perform two comic operas intertwined, Donizetti's Rita and Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, in the beautiful tythe barn at Lyde Court, Herefordshire.
Lyde Court dates back to the 14th Century and is part of the vast Duchy of Cornwall Estate, set in an idyllic Herefordshire valley but only two miles from Hereford City centre. Pop-up Opera perform in one of the 17th Century Stone Tythe Barns adjacent to the main house and gardens. This beautiful atmospheric building has undergone minimal changes in 400 years and is completely unspoilt. The stone walls, elm beams, vaulted ceilings and arrow slit windows give a wonderful ambience for our operatic stories to unfold! Lyde’s Gary Waring helps us create the set with his amazing collection of antiques.
