Venue Information

Christ College Brecon

The tradition of learning at Christ College goes back as far as the 13th Century when the black-robed Dominican preaching order founded the Friary of St. Nicholas on the site of the school. In 1541 Christ College was founded by Royal Charter, by King Henry VIII, who gave it its name. Over 470 years later, that tradition of learning continues today as Christ College, which is set in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, is one of the UK’s oldest and most successful independent schools and offers a wide range of academic, athletic and cultural activities, whilst giving everyone associated with the school the chance to form close friendships and develop a real sense of belonging. Pop-up Opera will perform in Christ College’s newly built Centre for the Creative Arts, Y Neuadd Goffa: The Memorial Hall, facilitating the opportunity to bring professional performing arts to the school. This attractive, well-designed venue complements the beautiful atmospheric buildings that occupy the Christ College campus.
