What more could we ask for than to visit our Producer Kate McStraw's home county for first the first time, and to do so in such close proximity to the sea?! This little theatre by the sea brings us a building seeped in history, perfectly paired for this production, which has also stood the test of time. A real treat for Easter Monday, to make the most of the long weekend with a spot of opera!

Known as 'the little theatre by the sea', Marine Theatre sat on the dramatic Jurassic Coast line of Dorset couldn't be more picturesque. The history of a building affects its atmosphere, and the stories that play out within its walls are as important to its feel as bricks, mortar and lampshades. You can tell as soon as you walk into the Marine Theatre that a lot has happened here; from public baths to 'take the waters' in the 1800's, to a military training ground for local soldiers, to a cinema, until committed as a dedicated theatre space in the 1960's. Pop-up Opera will take to a stage frequented by the likes of James Cagney, Status Quo and The Troggs - we look forward to bringing opera to this idyllic coastal town in 2016!
