Soprano Monica McGhee is a graduate of the RSAMD and the RCM having graduated with Distinction from the Masters in vocal Performance course at the RCM. She is a recent alumni of the English National Opera 'Opera Works' programme. Her operatic work includes Frasquita (cover) for Scottish Opera's Carmen, Giannetta and Adina (cover) for Haddo House Opera, Gretel for Bloomsbury Opera and Gherardino in the RSAMD and Scottish Opera production of Gianni Schicchi. Monica has performed as a soloist with some of the country's leading orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, London symphony Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, English National Orchestra, The Orchestra of Opera North and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
She regularly sings in the Royal Opera House extra chorus and extra chorus with English National Opera. This summer she sang in the Petit Choeur and as one of the Theban Virgin's in the Royal Opera House production of Oedipe.
Recent engagements include Cio Cio San from English National Opera's 'Know the Show' and for Streetwise Opera "pop up opera". She also sang the role of the Wise Woman in the world premiere of The Glass Knight at Saffron Hall in Spring 2016.
