Hamish Mackay

Baritone

Hamish Mackay is a baritone who graduated with honours from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has studied with Pat Macmahon and Laura Sarti, and is currently under the tutelage of Robert Dean. He has attended Oxenfoord Singing Summer School and has sung in scenes as well as masterclasses with Paul Wynne-Griffiths, Malcolm Martineau and Anne Murray. Hamish has given recitals in Italy, London and around the UK with Simon Over and Berrak Dyer. He performed Judas and Chorus in Jonathan Millar’s production of St Matthew Passion at the National Theatre (2011) and the Messiah with Simon Over (2013). Since 2008 he has sung in the chorus in L’elisir d’amore (BYO), La Clemenza di Tito (Dutch National Opera Academy), Don Carlos (Midsummer Opera), La Cenerentola (Opera up Close), Rigoletto (Bury Court Opera), Francesca di Foix (Guildhall), Waiter and Chorus in Falstaff (Berbiguieres Opera), crony and cover for Ben in Paul Bunyan (BYO), Genno in Lliam Paterson’s Spirit Harbour (Cambridge Chamber Opera, The Rosemary Branch & Tete a Tete Festival), John in Lucie Treacher’s The Fishermans’ Brides (Tete a Tete Festival) and Covered Barone in La Traviata (Opera South).
